The 2018 FF1M Season will be the 38th season of the FF1M series.
Rule Changes[]
Aerodynamics[]
The budget cap for pre-season aerodynamic work was increased to 100.
Engines[]
Following the previous season's introduction of a sliding scale regarding the amount of teams a manufacturer could supply depending on the championship position of the manufacturer team, this rule was amended/clarified. For the 2018 entry period, the highest placed team running an engine will be considered rather than the manufacturer team, for example Mitchell's 2nd placed finish in 2016 would count for Mugen instead of Gojira's 8th placed finish in the same season.
Furthermore, a budget cap of 100 for engine development was introduced.
Testing[]
Spreadsheets were updated with information to show how teams were developing their cars and how manufacturer teams were developing their engines with written advice being provided by:
- Chief Engineer
- Head of Aerodynamics
- Head of Engine Development
- Chief Tyre Engineer
To be able to showcase this, the Wind Tunnel and Rolling Road became free of charge with unlimited use through out the season.
The car set-up was refined so teams can fine tune between balance, qualifying, and race on a scale from 1 to 11.
Driver ability will also be displayed within the spreadsheet.
