The Championship was won by Jenson Button form TornadoF1, 32 points ahead of Gui Racing's Christian Klien. Button won the title two races remaining in Abu Dhabi, where he need advantage at least 24 points. Jenson finished race in 2nd, so Klien need at least 5th. Austrian failed to make it with 6th.

Championship podium complete FJR's Fernando Alonso. 2006 World Champion Nico Rosberg, had a very bad season, out of top ten in standings, due to move from FJR to Dark Wolf on Mark Webber's place in Hungary. Rosberg wasn't happy from car's form and its reliability, so move to the Dark Wolf. Previous-year World Champion accepted German's proposition and placed him alongside Marc Gene. Nico's left place in FJR complete Austrian Alexander Wurz.

Fourth place was won by very fast debutant from Shannon, Brazilian Bruno Senna. the nephew of the legendary Ayrton Senna. Bruno five times take pole and two times won. His team-mate, also debutant and also very fast, Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado, got worse season, with lots of retirements from top positions. But Pastor three times took pole.

Fifth place in Championship took Polish ace Robert Kubica. Season was a bit worse than 2007, when he finished 3rd with 85 points and three positions ahead of team-mate. In 2008 Kubica finished 5th with 17 meshes less and three places behind team-mate, but large falut is on page of a lot retirements, also from top positions. But finally Robert won three races, in Austria, Belgium and Singapore, help Gui Racing to take 2nd in Constructors' Championship.

For Giorgio Pantano it was season of ups and downs. In Valencia he won his second ever Grand Prix, but in space of season he drove so tonelessly. Pantano often retired from the race due to collision with his fault. Only 6th place next to team-mate's Championship was dissapointing for Italian.

Lewis Hamilton finished season five places down, than 2007 (7th), but it was for he very busy season. At start of the season, Shake n' Bake build very slow car, for which succes was top ten in qualifying and just a point in race. But in space if the season Hamilton up and start to score podiums and - finally in Japan - wins. Season passed for Lewis under sign of a lots fights on the track.

Championship defender, Sebastian Vettel, who move from Dark Wolf to Pedersen, had a hopeless season. He finished in standings only 8th with just 26 points and lots of retirements or none-points finishes. Move to Gui for 2009 looks reasonably for Vettel.

Andy Racing was next team, who make a big jump - their drivers, Adrian Sutil and Nelson Piquet jnr. had a strong season, finished in 9th and 10th respectively, with superb 3rd places at the end of the season in Abu Dhabi (Piquet) and Japan (Sutil).

Another team, who had a strong season, was Mitchell BMW. Sebastien Buemi and Jarno Trulli drove well and car was fast, but also often fails. BMW engines weren't the best and their failure weren't a surprise. Swissman and Italian were battleing often for top 5 positions, but from not their falut retires. In Valencia Trulli run 4th, but coillision exclued him from the battle. In Singapore Buemi took a mega surprise pole with Trulli's 5th. Just after start Bruno Senna crashed into Sebastien and he musted retired. Trulli was promoted to 3rd, but podium position out after a carambolage, in which he lost the front spoiler and drop to 17th. At the season finale, in Brazil, Trulli run well in 6th, but oil leak once again caused Italian retirement. The best race was Japanese Grand Prix, when Buemi without big problems finished 7th, the best position of the season, also with battleing for 4th againts Neel Jani, Alexander Wurz and Nico Rosberg. Mitchell finished Constructors' Championship outside top 10, in 11th, beating only four the slowest teams - Ajay, SF1, GRM and Autodynamics and be the last classificed team, who score points.
