The 1988 FF1M Season was the 25th FF1M season and the fourth in the classic format. It took place in the Autumn of 2013 between the 2009 and 2010 FF1M Seasons.
The 1988 season was the first full season to be run using the GP4 software with races broadcast live over the series Twitch channel.
Due to hardware failure, some of the records regarding this season have been lost, such as all the fastest laps and seven of the 16 pole positions recorded, although the results do count against driver and team statistics.
Format
Unlike in modern FF1M, Classic FF1M Seasons will have points only for the top 6 drivers with 1st place scoring 9 points and 6th place scoring 1. Furthermore, only the best 11 results will count towards the championship. For the teams championship, all races will count.
At the start of each Classic FF1M Season, past and existing team owners will have 100 credits only to choose their 2 race drivers from a list of 22 drivers that competed in the F1 Season of that year. They will also have to choose a Team from that year with which to align themselves with. The team they choose will determine their power and reliability stats for the season.
